GenXS Jamaica has announced the grand opening of its exclusive showroom at the Sovereign Centre Mall in Kingston.
The showroom features the current costume collection under the theme ‘Kingdom of the Sun’, a reimagination of sun deities and their cultural significance across the globe.
The showroom has 12 sections, each designed by leading Caribbean costumers, comprising designs from Skai by Douglas John, Ashur by Solange Govia, Azula, Xova, Mezara, and Skoll by David Dewer, Eos and Suhraya by Alejandro Gomez, Helia by Shawn Dhanraj, Itoshii by Natalie Fonrose, Lyza by Sherice Dixon, and the Sun Seeker T-shirt section.
Each section captures the essence of the sun through unique interpretations, weaving together bold designs, intricate details, and colours that symbolizes the sun and sunshine.
The showroom allows masqueraders to view the costumes in their true colors and examine the materials, as well as purchasing on-site.
Convenient access for local masqueraders
Mala Morrison, band leader of GenXS Jamaica, is most excited about catering to the masqueraders. ‘This showroom is about offering our masqueraders the best possible experience. It’s not just about costumes; it’s about the entire process — the opportunity to feel the textures, understand the sizing and immerse themselves in the essence of our ‘Kingdom of the Sun’ theme. I’m looking forward to welcoming everyone and helping them find the perfect costume to express their individuality on the road.’
The GenXS showroom location is central and convenient for many local masqueraders. The vast space allows for inspection and observation.
Operating hours for the showroom are from Tuesdays to Saturdays, 11 am to 7 pm and Sundays 11 am to 5 pm.
