Best Dressed Chicken backs Sunshine Girls with $16m deal

The Best Dressed Chicken announced a three-year, $16 million sponsorship deal with Netball Jamaica on Thursday to support the Sunshine Girls as they prepare for the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney, Australia.

The partnership, unveiled at a press conference at the Liguanea Club in New Kingston, will provide funding, resources, and promotional support to bolster the team’s journey toward international success.

“We are thrilled to partner with Netball Jamaica and invest in the future of this incredible sport,” said Avadaugn Sinclair, regional marketing manager for The Best Dressed Chicken. “The Sunshine Girls are an inspiration to all Jamaicans, and we are excited to fuel their passion, dedication, and pursuit of victory.”

The sponsorship includes:

  • Financial backing for training, equipment upgrades, travel expenses, and athlete development.
  • Product supply of lean protein to aid player nutrition and recovery.
  • Public engagement initiatives to promote netball and inspire young athletes nationwide.

Karen Baugh, chair of Netball Jamaica’s marketing and sponsorship committee, said the partnership would enable long-term development and provide critical resources for the team.

“This significant investment from The Best Dressed Chicken comes at a crucial time as we prepare for upcoming international competitions,” Baugh said. “We are incredibly grateful for this partnership and look forward to working together to elevate Jamaican netball.”

The Sunshine Girls will begin their 2025 season with the Margaret Beckford Series against South Africa, scheduled for January 18, 22, and 25 at the National Indoor Sports Centre.

Netball Jamaica president Tricia Robinson expressed gratitude for The Best Dressed Chicken’s renewed sponsorship, describing it as a significant boost to the organisation and its athletes.

“Your continued support is not just an investment in netball; it is an investment in the dreams and aspirations of our talented athletes who proudly represent Jamaica on the global stage,” Robinson said.

She also highlighted the company’s sponsorship of the Margaret Beckford Series against South Africa, emphasizing its importance. “This series is more than a set of matches; it is a celebration of excellence, resilience, and the enduring legacy of a pioneer who paved the way for the development of netball in our country.
