St James men booked for hole-in-the-wall supermarket hit in St Ann

Detectives from the St Ann Police Division have charged two men with shop breaking and larceny following an incident in the parish on Monday, January 13.

Charged is:

  • 25-year-old Timar Watson, a mechanic, and
  • 42-year-old Richard Jennie, a construction worker, both of Montego Bay, St James.

Reports from the Brown’s Town police are that about 7pm, the complainant securely locked his business establishment and went home.

Later that night he was alerted by a security camera system at the establishment, and saw two men inside his supermarket.

The men had entered the supermarket by forcefully opening a grill to the rear of the building, then used a sledgehammer to dig a hole in the wall.

The police were contacted and both men were accosted and taken into custody.

The men were subsequently charged by the police.

Their court date is to be finalised.
