Twenty-two-year-old Oneek Henry, otherwise called ‘CJ’, of Top Hill, Mount Carey, St James, has been charged with several offences following an incident in his community on Friday, July 5, 2024
He has been charged with shooting with intent (three counts), possession of prohibited weapon, possession of firearm with intent to injure, using firearm to commit a felony, and discharge of firearm in any place.
According to reports from the Montego Bay police, about 5:45 pm, three now complainants were on their veranda when Henry allegedly approached their gate and opened gunfire in their direction.
The now complainants ran inside their house and locked the door in a bid to escape injury.
Once the shooting subsided, they discovered bullet indentations on their veranda wall and bullet holes in the trunk and seats of a Toyota Noah motor vehicle that was at the premises.
No one was injured during the incident, and Henry reportedly escaped on foot in the area.
He later surrendered to the police in the company of his attorney, and was identified by the complainants on an identification parade on January 14, 2025 and subsequently charged by the police.
This was after a question-and-answer interview was conducted with him.
His court date is being finalised.
