The People’s National Party (PNP) has expressed sadness at the passing of Comrade Phyllis Mitchell, who died earlier today, January 21, 2025.
A stalwart of the party and a dedicated servant to the nation, Mitchell represented the North East St Catherine constituency as a member of parliament.
She later served as Minister of State in the Ministry of Education and Culture, where her passion for education and public service left an indelible mark, the PNP said in a statement.
Her contributions to national development and her unwavering dedication to uplifting others are remembered as key aspects of her enduring legacy, the party said.
The PNP said details regarding arrangements to honour her life and service will be shared in due course.
