Michael Belnavis, the Mayor of St Ann's Bay, has been discharged from the hospital and is currently on the mend after being attacked by an unknown assailant.

The incident occurred on Monday when an attacker confronted the mayor at his residence.

The injuries sustained by the mayor were non-life threatening, allowing for a swift recovery, Loop News has beeninformed

The St Ann Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Belnavis is expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support and good wishes.
