Head of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), Commander Alvin Gayle says some 100 shelters remain open across the island.
According to Commander Gayle 1107 people are in these shelters.
He says the Jamaica Constabulary Force continues to partner with OPDEM to provide welfare checks on the shelters and has distributed some 10 thousand care packages.
The ODPEM Director General notes that 73 schools continue to be used as shelters.
