Agriculture Minister Floyd Green assures the country there will be sufficient food for the Christmas period

Agriculture Minister Floyd Green is assuring the country that there will be sufficient food for the Christmas period.

Hurricane Melissa devastated the agriculture sector in several parishes, impacting thousands of farmers. 

Mr. Green says external sources are being tapped to address shortfall especially for vegetables and table eggs.

Mr. Green says discussions have begun with the Finance Ministry regarding the importation of some items.

The Agriculture Minister says the ministry has been working with the praedial larceny unit to protect farmers.
