Police have identified the man who was fatally shot during an alleged confrontation, in White River, Ocho Rios, St.Ann, yesterday.
Dead is Clifton Brown otherwise called “Packy” of Bamboo in the parish.
He was wanted for murder.
Reports are that at about 5:00 A.M., police acting on information, conducted a targeted operation at a dwelling occupied by Brown.
Further allegations are that, upon the approach of the police, Brown pointed a gun at the lawmen.
The officers took evasive action and opened gunfire hitting Brown.
He was taken to hospital -where he was pronounced dead.
A Sig 9mm pistol and 14 rounds were seized following the incident.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the matter.
