5000 workers to benefit from tourism housing assistance recovery programme

Five thousand workers are to benefit from the Tourism Housing Assistance Recovery Programme, (THARP) which is to be launched today.
Tourism minister Ed Bartlett made the announcement at an appreciation breakfast at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston yesterday.
He said THARP will have over J$2B available to start providing grant support to tourism workers who have been affected, primarily those who have lost roofs and homes.
Mr. Bartlett said to date some US$15Min support has been provided by industry partners for care packages, loans and grants to tourism workers.
