Tourism Housing Assistance Recovery Programme to support about 5000 workers with hurricane-damaged homes

The Tourism Housing Assistance Recovery Programme (THARP) which was officially launched yesterday is intended to support about 5000 workers whose homes were damaged by hurricane Melissa.
Speaking at the launch, Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett said the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) has allocated $70 million to provide housing vouchers valued at $100,000 to each worker.
He said five block and steel homes for workers will be built in the initial phase of the programme.
Mr. Bartlett pointed out that the programme is not limited to hotel workers.
Workers are being urged to apply for the programme via the Tourism Enhancement Fund website.
They will also be able to track their application on the portal.
