The St. James police are refuting claims that the premises where a child was shot and killed in Granville on New Year’s Day, was targeted.
Head of the division Senior Superintendent Eron Samuels addressed the issue at today’s meeting of the St. James Municipal Corporation.
His comments follow reports that 4 year old Romaine Bowman was shot during an alleged shootout between cops and armed men in the community.
SSP Samuels pointed out that police officers went to the house where the incident occurred to investigate reports of a gun salute.
He noted that the officers came under fire and that they also shielded the wounded child and his mother.
