Education Ministry announces dates for this year’s PEP exams

Grade 6 students will sit the exams on April 29 and 30, Grade 5 on June 10 and the Grade 4 test is scheduled for June 24.

Meantime, changes have also been announced for the exams.

Chief Education Officer, Terry-Ann Thomas Gayle, says the ministry finalised the components for this year following extensive consultation.

She outlines the plans for other grades.

Meantime, the Education Ministry has modified the National Standards Curriculum to ensure the best outcomes for students, following disruptions caused by Hurricane Melissa.

The Chief Education Officer says the schools in the affected regions have been updated.

The changes are to benefit Grades 1 to 9.

Mrs. Thomas Gayle says the most essential objectives have been selected for students to determine skills and competencies.

Meantime, the Education Ministry says all 1,010 schools have resumed classes.

The schools have various operational modalities: face-to-face, remote, staggered approach, rotational schedule and reduced hours.
