The first five hundred prebuilt semipermanent modular units, under the National Housing Trust’s rapid deployment housing solution, are expected to arrive in the island next month.
The disclosure came from Prime Minister Dr. Andrew homeless at the launch of the Shelter Recovery Programme (SRP) yesterday.
He said 2500 units have been secured, under the initiative.
Dr. Holness again stressed that the anticipated housing solutions are intended for the most vulnerable persons, who were affected by Hurricane Melissa last October.
The prime minister also reiterated that NHT contributors, whose homes sustained damage, can benefit from grants of up to $500,000.
