PM Holness assures government will provide budget to equip all police formations with body-worn cameras
Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has assured that the government will supply the police force with the necessary budget to ensure all formations are equipped with body-worn cameras.
Speaking at today’s passing-out parade and awards ceremony, Dr. Holness acknowledged the concerns raised about body cameras.
He said the use of technology in the force is fundamental to crime fighting, intelligence gathering and community engagement.
Dr. Holness said the Jamaica Constabulary Force has been proactive in securing the best technological ecosystem to support the full deployment of body cameras.
He noted that it’s the government’s intention to provide the force with all the equipment it needs.
Dr. Holness stressed that the government is investing in the force.
