The Transport Authority has lamented that not many taxi operators are making use of the online application for licences.
Managing Director Ralson Smith noted that a review was conducted of the 2025 / 2026 licensing period.
He said, only about 9% of the over 16,000 applications was processed online.
Mr Smith is urging route taxi associations to encourage more of their members to use the online application platform.
As it relates to payment via the online platform, Mr Smith acknowledged concerns, and assured that they have been addressed.
He was speaking at the annual route taxi association meeting held recently in St Ann.
