A fire which reportedly broke out at the Riverton City Dump in Kingston yesterday has been extinguished.
Executive Director of the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA), Audley Gordon said the fire was put out this afternoon, with help from the Jamaica Fire Brigade.
Mr Gordon told IRIE FM News that he received reports of the blaze around 11 AM yesterday.
He explained that even though the fire was not large, the wind made extinguishing it difficult.
He said investigations into the cause of the fire are still taking place.
