The Jamaica Public service JPS says approximately 17 thousand customers remain without power.
President and Chief Executive Officer Hugh Grant says those residents are located in Westmoreland, St Elizabeth, St. James and Hanover, with the majority being in Westmoreland.
He states that by the end of February another 7000 will receive power and the target is for the remaining customers to be back on the grid between March and April.
Mr Grant explains that about 40 percent of remaining customers are not ready to receive power.
Meanwhile, he reveals that 97.5 percent of JPS customers have had powered restored since Hurricane Melissa last October.
This means that approximately 673 thousand of 690 thousand customers now have power.
