Man fatally shot during alleged police confrontation in Old Folly, Discovery Bay, St. Ann

A man was fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with police in Old Folly, Discovery Bay, St. Ann this morning.
He has been identified as Sudane Downer of Hanover.
The incident occurred at about 5:00 A.M.
Head of the St. Ann Police, Senior Superintendent Carlos Russell says Downer was on bail following a murder charge.
Meanwhile, the St. Ann police also carried out operations in Bethel Town.
The operations targetted wanted men and individuals linked to lottery scamming and violent crime.
SSP Russell said the operations form part of sustained efforts to suppress criminal networks, recover illegal firearms and strengthen public safety.
