17 y/o Ocho Rios High student charged with murder of schoolmate to appear in court next Wednesday

The 17-year-old Ocho Rios High student charged with the murder of his schoolmate Devonie Shearer is to appear in the St. Ann Family Court on March 18.
The accused has not been named, as he is a minor.
Reports are that the teen and Devonie had a dispute in Ocho Rios town on Tuesday.
A day later, 16-year-old Devonie was attacked with a metal chair while standing in a classroom.
He sustained serious injuries and was rendered unconscious.
He died at hospital.
The accused teen was handed over to the police later the same day.
He was charged on Thursday, March 5 in the presence of his parent, after eyewitness statements implicated him.
