Opposition Spokesman on Finance Julian Robinson has chastised the government for what he described as making a wrong call with its proposal to impose more taxes.
In his contribution to the budget debate today Robinson pointed out that the revenue measures outlined by the government will only place more tax burden on people who are already struggling.
Mr. Robinson said raising taxes is a pro-cyclical response.
The spokesman said the government should have stimulated activity and created the conditions for the tax base to recover.
