Nurse says she did not benefit financially while serving in Cuban Medical Programme

While hailing the now discontinued Jamaica Cuba Medical cooperation as a great initiative for locals, one nurse who came to Jamaica on the programme in 1999 said Cubans did not really benefit from it financially, as the majority of their earnings went to the Cuban government.
The nurse who requested anonymity, shared her story with IRIE FM News following the March 5 announcement that the agreement was being terminated after 5 decades.
