Eight new homes were recently built in hurricane ravaged Westmoreland, by United States-based company, Bartalozzi Homes.
Owner of the entity, Dirk Bartalozzi led a team of volunteer carpenters from Wisconsin in the US to Jamaica to build new wooden homes for Hurricane Melissa victims who are employees of Couples Resorts.
The initiative was spearheaded by Couples Resorts as well as the Issa Trust Foundation.
It took 2 days to build each house.
Noting the devastation caused by category 5 Hurricane Melissa, Mr. Bartalozzi said he was moved to assist because his wife is Jamaican.
