HEART/NSTA Trust to launch pilot of LEAP programme to expand pathways from tertiary education to employment

The HEART/NSTA Trust will launch a pilot of the Learning, Earning and Prosper (LEAP) Programme in fiscal year 2026/2027, aimed at expanding pathways from tertiary education to employment.
In his contribution to the budget debate in parliament on Thursday Prime Minister, Dr. Andrew Holness, announced that students enrolled in accredited tertiary institutions will be offered opportunities for paid on-the-job experience.
He acknowledged President of the University of the West Indies Guild of Students, Roshaun Wynter, and President of the University of Technology Students’ Union, Percival Roberts, along with their teams, for serving as the driving force behind the initiative.
