Finance Ministry to host public meeting with small businesses on Set-Aside initiative

The Finance Ministry will be hosting a public meeting with small business operators tomorrow to prepare them for participation in the Set-Aside initiative.

The Public Procurement Set-Aside Framework is aimed at getting more small-sized local businesses to bid for government contracts.

Portfolio Minister Fayval Williams announced the programme when she opened the Budget Debate and following calls for more details she announced the sensitization session while closing the debate in the Lower House yesterday.

Mrs. Williams noted that the public procurement commission is in the process of creating a verified list of eligible businesses.
