Rains to continue affecting island into tomorrow; flooding reported in Half Way Tree today
Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue affecting the island into tomorrow.
Already, there are reports of flooding in Kingston.
Videos circulating on social media show sections of Half Way Tree inundated.
The National Works Agency said flood waters should recede after the rains cease.
Heavy rains and lightning have also impacted today’s session of the Boys and Girls Championships at the National Stadium, with officials suspending races for 2 hours.
The Met Service has stated that there is a trough across Jamaica.
The trough is expected to remain across the island over the next few days.
Tonight will see lingering showers with conditions becoming mostly cloudy, while tomorrow expect isolated and scattered showers as well as thunderstorms across most parishes.
