KSAMC says to continue its operations to remove unauthorized signs and billboards from the municipality
The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) says it will continue its operations to remove unauthorized signs and billboards from the municipality.
This after phase one of the KSAMC Signage Regulation Campaign ended on March 31.
When the campaign began in January, the KSAMC offered a 20 per cent discount to encourage businesses to regularize their signage in accordance with municipal regulations.
The KSAMC said despite sustained outreach and stakeholder engagement, compliance has been very low.
Following a massive KSAMC operation to remove illegal signage in the municipality recently, Mayor of Kingston, Andrew Swaby said all signs not applied and approved will be taken down.
The mayor said a number of signs were taken down due to non-compliance.
