Family of American man wounded in St. Andrew shooting focusing on getting him back to the U.S. for emergency surgery
The family of the United States national who was among three men shot and wounded at a post-carnival party last evening, says the priority is to get him back to the U.S. for emergency surgery.
Jeremy Watson was among scores of patrons attending Big Wall at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in St. Andrew.
He was reportedly only at the venue for approximately five minutes, when he was struck by a stray bullet resulting from an alleged altercation between attendees.
One of Watson’s relatives told IRIE FM News, that the bullet tore through the patron’s arm.
There are fears that the incident could leave Watson disabled.
During the interview, the family member was packing Watson’s bags for a flight booked for tomorrow.
He said Watson is scheduled for surgery soon after landing in the U.S.
The wounded man’s loved ones are hoping the incident will remind event organizers to be serious about implementing the necessary safeguards.
