Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has again highlighted the need for a reformed bureaucracy, noting that it took over 2 decades for 34 serviced lots to be delivered to beneficiaries at Cherry Gardens, St. Catherine.

The lots were handed over this afternoon.

They were delivered through a partnership between the National Housing Trust and preview limited under the interim finance programme.

Under the programme, 193 serviced lots were developed at Cherry Gardens, 80 of which were retained by the NHT.

Of the 80, over forty were delivered to beneficiaries in 2004.

Speaking at today’s ceremony for the handing over of the remaining lots Dr. Holness said a major shortcoming for Jamaica is implementation.

He said Jamaicans can achieve more than it currently is.

Dr. Holness stressed the importance of productivity, and noted that performance management must be the new buzz word of Jamaica.
