INDECOM reports 6 people killed by security forces in 3 separate incidents yesterday
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is reporting that six people were killed by members of the security forces in three separate incidents yesterday.
The identities of those killed have not been released.
In the first incident, four men were killed during an alleged confrontation with lawmen in the Bog Walk Gorge, in St. Catherine.
A police officer was also wounded during the incident.
He is in critical but stable condition at the hospital.
Hours later, another man who is suspected of being connected to the incident in the Bog Walk Gorge was shot and killed during an alleged confrontation with lawmen in the vicinity of the G.C. Foster College in the parish.
Police theorise that the man escaped from the scene at Bog Walk.
In another incident, in the Land Lease community in Papine, St. Andrew, a man reportedly opened fire at the police.
The police returned fire, and the man was fatally shot.
