FWCF calls for Government intervention as Trelawny demolition threatens back-to-school for displaced children

There is concern that children affected by the recent demolition exercise in Cooper’s Pen, Trelawny, will not be able to attend school when the new academic year commences on Monday.

Lobby group, Fi We Children Foundation (FWCF) says it became deeply concerned following reports from parents that some children may not return to school before January.

This as families are facing significant uncertainty following the demolition.

FWCF’s Legal Consultant and Attorney-at-Law, Kayla Wright, says the disruption to housing and family stability cannot be allowed to become an interruption to a child’s education.

She is calling on the government to intervene.
