Transport Minister, Daryl Vaz is urging members of the public to rely only on official Government sources for confirmation of any reports concerning industrial action in the transport sector.
In recent days, some persons have used social media to circulate unsubstantiated claims of planned disruptions, in fuel supplies and transportation operations.
This has led to anxiety and uncertainty among residents, especially those seeking to take children to school today.
On his social media page, Mr. Vaz described the posts as irresponsible, adding that it does not serve the public interest.
He said the ministry remains in regular contact with stakeholders and will continue to keep the public fully informed of any genuine developments through official media sources.
He said he is not aware of any plan of any industrial or disruption action in the transport sector at this time.
