Minister of Culture expresses sadness at passing of Jamaican journalist Balford Henry

Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport Olivia Grange has expressed sadness at the passing of Jamaican journalist Balford Henry.

Ms. Grange said Mr. Henry was “a first-rate journalist” who was committed to his craft.

According to the Minister, Mr. Henry was an “outstanding writer and questioner whose easy-going demeanour belied the penetrating nature of his questions.”

She said she had great respect for Henry, that he was always professional in his interactions and in his journalistic pursuits.

She said he was sharp, keen, could be tough, but was always fair.

The Minister has offered sincere condolences to Mr. Henry’s family and colleagues.
