The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) says the tariff application submitted by the National Water Commission (NWC) covers the five-year period 2026/27 to 2030/31.
The OUR confirmed this afternoon that it received the tariff application last Friday.
NWC Acting President Kevin Kerr revealed that the water company is seeking a 51 per cent tariff increase at this morning’s meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
The regulator says, in accordance with its established tariff review process, it will conduct an initial assessment to determine whether or not the application meets the acceptance requirements for the conduct of a tariff review, both in respect of form and content.
Where necessary, the OUR may request additional information from the NWC before deciding whether to formally accept the application for review.
This decision will be conveyed to the NWC within ten days.
The NWC last applied for a tariff review in 2018, and the OUR published its decision in 2019.
The OUR says it will continue to keep the public informed as the process progresses.
