“Permanent employment matters, and a country cannot run essential services on uncertainty”.
Those comments from Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness as he addressed workers at the National Solid Waste Management Authority’s Long Service Award last evening.
It followed news that over 2,000 workers at the Authority have been permanently placed on staff.
Dr. Holness noted that the move is indicative of his administration’s ongoing commitment to support greater stability of the sector.
He also lauded the workers for their efforts in removing debris across the island in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.
