Chart-topping label Armz House Records and Canada-based label Realascanb Entertainment, have joined forces to release one of the year’s most anticipated dancehall projects, “New World Order”.
The project, which was released on Friday, November 29, features songs by chart-topping dancehall artiste Chronic Law, the iconic Sizzla, Laden, Jahshii, Vershon, I-Octane and rising newcomers T’Jean and Urbann.
Maurice Linton and Everton Minott are the main forces behind the Armz House Records imprint. The label has a solid track record in dancehall music circles, having scored big with songs including “Buss a Blank” by I-Octane and Mavado’s “At the Top its Just Us”.
“My cousin Bird, approached me with the idea for us to work on a project together and said I said yes, let’s get it done. He was the one who came up with the name of the rhythm and I did the selection of the artiste for the project,” Maurice explained.
He said getting the artistes to participate in the project wasn’t a difficult task.
“It wasn't hard knowing that I already have an understanding with everyone that I'm working with,” the producer with more than 15 years of experience in music production explained.
Songs featured on the New World Order are: “Grimey” by Chronic Law, “Wharf Load” by Jahshii, Own “Money” by I-Octane, “Imposter” by T’Jean, “Shine the Light” by Sizzla, “Empty” by Urbann, “Double Money” by Laden and “Gangster Paradise” by Vershon.
Canada-based Horatio ‘Bird’ Linton who is originally from the Kingston 11 area, started out producing music for up-and-coming acts. “New World Order” is his first project working with established artistes.
“I am very creative, a great listener and enjoy exploring new ideas/topics. Things that open your mind to what's going on around you and what is to come. I also have a strong vision of always trying to think outside the box, which can bring a difference to people's lives,” said Bird.
He has worked with the likes of Dharma, Voltyg, Young Wild Apache, Leejan Krucial Ggod, Krucial Diva, Csavi and Stamadan.
