Leon Bailey converted a late penalty to salvage a 1-1 draw for Jamaica against St Vincent and the Grenadines in the first leg of their 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup qualifier at Arnos Vale Stadium in Kingstown on Friday.

Oalex Anderson gave the hosts the lead in the 65th minute before Bailey levelled from the spot in the eighth minute of stoppage time, securing a crucial away result for the Reggae Boyz.

The teams will meet again in the return leg on Tuesday at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica.

Fourteen teams are competing for the final seven berths in the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup. After home-and-away play, the winner in each matchup will qualify for the Group Stage of the competition.

Guadeloupe, Guyana, and Suriname made the most of home advantage with opening victories, while Costa Rica, Honduras, and Trinidad and Tobago secured away wins to boost their qualification hopes.

Guadeloupe edged Nicaragua 1-0 at Stade Roger Zami in Le Gosier, while Guyana defeated Guatemala 3-2 at the BFA Technical Centre in Bridgetown, Barbados. Suriname clinched a 1-0 victory over Martinique at Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed Stadium in Paramaribo.

Trinidad and Tobago beat Cuba 2-1 at Estadio Antonio Maceo in Santiago, while Honduras outscored Bermuda 5-3 at the National Sports Centre in Devonshire. Costa Rica wrapped up the day's action with a commanding 7-0 win over Belize at FFB Stadium in Belmopan.
