The deadline for recipients of the Dr Barrington ‘Barry’ Wint Memorial Scholarship to complete their bonding agreements with the Government has been extended to Friday, October 18.
The announcement was made on Friday by the Ministry of Health and Wellness in a brief statement.
The ministry said scholarship awardees who face challenges with meeting the requirements of their bonding agreements are encouraged to call the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service at 876-922-8600, or visit the office at 30 National Heroes Circle, Kingston 4.

Some 607 Jamaicans were awarded scholarships from the nearly 2,000 who applied. Named in honour of former chief medical officer, Dr Barry Wint, the $2.5 billion scholarship provides an opportunity for students to have their public health studies financed by the Government.
As part of the arrangements, they will be bonded to work for the Government for an agreed period of time.
Applications opened on July 8, and successful applicants were notified in August.
The scholarship makes available $500 million each year for the next five years, with each applicant getting between $500,000 and $1 million to finance their studies.
An awards ceremony was held on August 30.
The introduction of the scholarship was announced by the Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Christopher Tufton, during his Sectoral Budget presentation in Parliament in May of this year.
The scholarship is for Jamaican nationals pursuing studies in, among other areas, medical technology, human resources for health, epidemiology, health records management, hospital/healthcare management, information systems for health, pharmacy, dentistry, health economics, as well as nursing and medicine.
