The Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) has sought to assure members of the public that the MultiLink debit card and Automated Clearing House (ACH) networks remain fully operational following the cyber incident at Jamaica Electronic Transfer System (JETS) Limited.
In a statement this afternoon, the BOJ said files accessed during the incident may have exposed some historical debit card numbers and the names of customers who received ACH transfers.
However, BOJ said JETS has confirmed that personal identification numbers (PINs), card verification values (CVVs) and card expiry dates are not stored in these systems and were not affected.
The BOJ said it is working with JETS, financial institutions and other national partners to address the incident and protect consumers.
Members of the public are being urged to monitor their accounts for suspicious transactions, be on the lookout for fraudulent messages and never share their PINS or online banking credentials.
