Carlong Publishers is the Caribbean’s foremost educational publisher that is committed to the development of quality educational and cultural products.

The company markets and distributes books that support Caribbean curricula at the early childhood, primary and secondary levels.

In acknowledging the plight of local schools that have been adversely affected by the passing of Hurricane Beryl, and as partners in the education process, Carlong Publishing Caribbean Limited has entered a partnership with the education, skills, youth, and information ministry.

Along with the minister of Education, Skills, Youth and Information, CPCL has vowed to donate approximately 5000 copies of titles from its flagship Carlong Primary Integrated Studies (CPIS) series to fifteen primary schools that suffered severe damage from the passing of Hurricane Beryl.

‘We recognized that there would be a need for these books as our CPIS titles are entrenched in the school system, having been consistently procured by theMinister of Education, Skills, Youth and Information and distributed to primary schools island-wide in previous years,’ shared Candice Carby, general manager of CPCL.

Recipient schools were chosen by the Minister of Education, Skills, Youth and Information with eleven schools selected from Region 5 (Manchester and St Elizabeth) and four schools from Region 7 (Clarendon).

‘We want to ease the burden on schools and on the parents who would otherwise have to go out and purchase the books, so we’re not just donating, we’re also delivering the books to the affected areas,’ Carby continued.

Carlong continues to work closely with the Minister of Education, Skills, Youth, and Information and the recipient schools will be special guests at two handing-over ceremonies slated for today, at 8:30 am at the Region 5 Office of the Ministry of Education and Youth, in Mandeville and on the same day at 1 pm at the Region 7 sister outlet in May Pen.

As partners in the education process, Carlong has maintained its commitment to provide high-quality educational materials for students within the Caribbean and to also ensure that Jamaican children at the primary level realize their full educational potential.
