Children’s lobby group Hear the Children's Cry, (HTCC) has launched a bumper sticker fundraising initiative as it seeks cash to fund the numerous programmes it undertakes on behalf of the nation’s vulnerable children.
In appealing to the public to support the initiative, HTCC said the fundraising activity is necessary to sustain these programmes.
It said it was excited to distribute 12x6-inch bumper stickers featuring positive messages focused on protecting the nation’s children.
“These stickers are versatile and can be shared with your family, friends, co-workers or clients. They are suitable for placement on vehicles, walls, or within homes—wherever users find them most impactful,” said HTCC. The lobby group disclosed that the bumper stickers are produced in collaboration with Canopy Insurance Limited and that the initiative “reflects our shared commitment to nation-building”.
HTCC is seeking a contribution of $1,000 per bumper sticker. It said the initiative will help it fund critical programmes, including:
• Counselling Services: Offering professional support to children who have run away, experienced abuse or trauma, or are struggling with behavioural challenges.
• Missing Children Support: Collaborating with child welfare partners and security forces to track, analyse, and share data on missing children, while advocating for their safety and return.
• Back-to-School Assistance: Providing financial aid for lunch money, school supplies, and transportation fees to ensure children can stay in school.
• School Outreach: Conducting school visits to educate children about the dangers of running away and teaching healthier coping strategies.
• Parental Support: Guiding parents at PTA meetings to recognise signs of distress in their children and offering tools for effective support.
HTCC said the support will not only help it to keep these programmes running but will also spread awareness about its mission to support vulnerable children and families
