A Clarendon taxi operator has been charged with rape and other offences in relation to a 12-year-old girl.
33-year-old Dave Thompson is also charged with abduction of a child under sixteen and assault at common law.
It is alleged that the incident occurred on September 24.
Police reports are that at about 3:00 P.M., the child boarded Thompson’s taxi en route to May Pen.
Upon reaching May Pen, Thompson allegedly held a knife at the girl’s neck.
He then drove to his house, where it is alleged that he assaulted her.
Following the incident, a report was made to the police and the child was taken to the hospital where she was medically examined.
On Friday, October 2, Thompson was pointed out in an identification parade by the complainant, following which he was charged.
His court date is being finalised.
