Constable Maitland to appeal guilty verdict handed down in Donaldson case

Director of Public Prosecution Claudette Thompson says she believes the jury returned the correct verdict in the constable Noel Maitland murder trial.

Maitland was convicted today for the murder of his girlfriend Donna Lee Donaldson in July 2022.

and, defence attorney Christopher Townsend said he and his team are surprised by the verdict.

He indicated that the  matter will go to  the Court of Appeal.
