St Lucia Kings delivered a commanding performance to remain atop the standings in the 2024 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL), defeating the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) by 80 runs in the 26th match of the season.

The Kings posted a formidable 218 for six in their 20 overs at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, reducing the Knight Riders to 138 off 17.5 overs.

Openers Faf du Plessis and Johnson Charles led the charge for the Kings, building a 145-run partnership. Charles hammered 89 off 47 balls before falling to Jayden Seales, caught by Chris Jordan at long on. Du Plessis contributed 59, while Tim Seifert added 30 off 17 balls to push the Kings past the 200 mark. Despite a strong bowling effort from Kieron Pollard, who took four for 38, the Knight Riders were left with a daunting target.

The Knight Riders struggled in their chase, losing regular wickets and collapsing to 56 for six. Noor Ahmed's left-arm wrist spin dismantled the middle order, removing Tim David (14), Akeal Hossein (0), and Andre Russell (12). Jason Roy resisted with a steady 41, but his dismissal by Shadrack Descarte, followed by Chris Jordan's wicket to David Wiese, sealed the Knight Riders' fate.

Final scores: St Lucia Kings 218-6 (20 overs), Trinbago Knight Riders 138 (17.5) overs).
