The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has surpassed the billion mark in combined digital and broadcast viewership for the first time. The total combined viewership for 2024 was 1.13 billion, representing a 32% increase compared to 2023.
The tournament experienced significant viewership growth in India, the Caribbean, and the United States, along with a notable rise across CPL’s social media platforms. These figures have further solidified the CPL’s position as one of the most-watched cricket tournaments globally.
The matches were broadcast worldwide through key partnerships in the Caribbean, India, the Middle East, the UK, the USA, Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa. In other regions, the games were streamed on the CPL’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
The 2024 season featured 34 matches hosted across six countries, including Antigua, Barbados, Guyana, St. Kitts, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad. The Saint Lucia Kings claimed their maiden CPL title at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
Pete Russell, CPL’s CEO, said: “This is a huge moment for the CPL. Reaching a total viewership figure of over a billion has been a long-term target for several years. Achieving 1.13 billion highlights the CPL’s widespread appeal across the Caribbean and around the world. The continued growth in interest in the CPL is extremely gratifying, and we are excited to use these outstanding results as a springboard for even greater success in 2025 and beyond.”
