Culture Minister lauds Bob Clarke for his contributions to growth of reggae music and Jamaica’s number 1 radio station IRIE FM

The late veteran broadcaster, Walter Bob Clarke has been recognised for his contributions to the growth of reggae music as well as Jamaica’s number 1 radio station, IRIE FM.
Culture and Entertainment Minister, Olivia Grange praised Bob Clarke during the Reggae Month church service, at Fellowship Tabernacle, in Kingston today.
Mr Clarke, who was awarded the Order of Distinction in 2018 for decades of contribution to Jamaican media, died on Tuesday January 27.
He was 75.
Bob Clarke was a part of IRIE FM’s early management team and hosted the popular Sunday afternoon programme Memories until his time at the company ended in 2020.
Ms. Grange said Bob Clarke helped to ensure that IRIE FM received its licence.
