Veteran financial journalist Dashan Hendricks has been elected president of the Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ).

Hendricks was elected during the association's annual general meeting held on Sunday at the PAJ’s East Avenue headquarters in St Andrew.

He succeeds Milton Walker, who served as the previous president and will continue to serve on the executive as a director.

Hendricks, who is the Business Content Manager at the Jamaica Observer, will be joined on the executive by returning members Kimberley Hibbert as first vice-president, Jovan Johnson as treasurer, Lloyd B. Smith as director, and Javaughn Keyes as assistant secretary-treasurer.

The new members of the executive include Neika Lewis of CVM TV, elected as second vice-president; Rochelle Clayton of the RJRGLEANER Communications Group, elected as secretary; and Ramon Gordon of CVM, who will serve as a director.

The newly elected executive will serve a two-year term.
