The body of a child was discovered washed ashore between the communities of Penville and Vieille Case on Sunday.
The police are currently on site investigating the circumstances that may have led to the tragic discovery.
The details surrounding the incident are still unclear, and the child's identity has not yet been confirmed.
However, initial reports suggest that the child may have been a passenger on a vessel that is believed to have been carrying Haitian migrants, which capsized while heading to one of the French territories.
