DPP seeking to have fatal motor vehicle crash matter, involving university student Kengu Black, transferred to Home Circuit Court

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is seeking to have a fatal motor vehicle crash matter, involving university student Kengu Black, transferred from the St. Catherine Parish Court to the Home Circuit Court.

The case was called up today before Acting Parish Judge Janelle Nelson Gayle.

It was put off until next Tuesday February 10 to facilitate the submission of a voluntary bill of indictment by the DPP, to have the case moved straight to the Circuit Court.

Black is charged with causing death by dangerous driving in relation to a fatal crash along the PJ Patterson Highway in St.Catherine, last March. 

Reports are that she was driving a car along the roadway, when it collided with a Toyota pro-box motor car.

Four occupants of the pro-box sustained injuries and were pronounced dead at hospital. 

Dead are, 22-year-old Tyesha Manhertz, 29-year-old Wendy Lammie, 27-year-old Andre McLeish and 8-year-old Trey Stewart.

Following investigations, Black was arrested and charged.

She was later granted $800,000 bail.
