A study is to be undertaken to review the ecological feasibility of three hospitals.
They are the Black River Hospital in St Elizabeth, Falmouth in Trelawny and Noel Holmes hospital in Hanover which sustained significant damage during Hurricane Melissa.
Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton says the ministry is engaging a technical support team, through a collaboration with the Inter American Development Bank (IDB).
This is to determine if the three facilities should remain at their current locations.
Dr Tufton indicates that the results of the rapid study are expected early in the new year.
